PLUS Bicycle Tours

ARCH is offering a variety of walking tours every Thursday evening now through October, with bonus tours on the second and fourth Saturday afternoons of each month.

A bicycle tour is scheduled each month through September.  One more Lindenwood Cemetery walking tour is scheduled in August after the free 4-7 p.m. July 12 Dearly Departed self-guided tour that is ARCH’s community contribution to the Three Rivers Festival.

Buy tickets at a special advance discount of $5 per adult ticket on the ARCH website.

Use the calendar on this page to select your date and go to the ticket sales pages. Tickets may be purchased on the day of the tour at the tour meeting point ONLY for cash and with correct change. Day of tour price for adults is $20, $10 for children 12 and younger.

Masks are recommended for unvaccinated tour guests and optional for anyone who is more comfortable wearing one.

Tickets purchased online in advance cost $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and younger. Tickets purchased the day of the tour can only be purchased at the tour meeting spot and will cost $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and younger, cash and correct change only.

UPDATE: ARCH has cancelled the July 22 and 24 tours, A Stroll Along West Rudisill and Welcome to Williams Woodland, due to staffing needs. Both tours will be presented at later dates, as detailed in the schedule below. We apologize for the inconvenience and invite you to select a new date to enjoy those tours or to select another tour to enjoy. Thank you.

  • July 29 Haunted Wells Street.New tour for 2021! A shouting ghost, crying ghosts, much mystery, more than a touch of tragedy and plenty of thrilling stories are packed into the few blocks of this pleasant commercial street. Meet at the corner of Wells and Fourth Streets. 7 p.m. Admission charged.
  • August 5: Jazz Age.This tour debuted in 2020, so if you missed it then, now’s your chance! Skyscrapers, movie palaces and speakeasies lined these streets back when jazz was all the rage. Meet outside the Grand Wayne Center on Jefferson Boulevard. 7 p.m. Admission charged.
  • August 12: Haunted Lakeside. Sweet-smelling ghosts, bloody battles, tragedy and a touch of Stephen King await the tour guests brave enough to take on this tour. Meet on Edgewater Avenue just east of the Columbia Avenue bridge. 7 p.m. Admission charged.
  • August 14: Built Heritage of West Central.New tour for 2021! Dive deep into the styles and stories of Fort Wayne’s signature historic district. Meet on the Wayne Street side of Library Plaza. 10 a.m. Admission charged.
  • August 19: Architecture for the Dead, a Lindenwood Tour. Explore the symbolism and purpose of the architecture and art the living leave behind for the dead. Meet in the Lincdenwood parking lot. 7 p.m. Admission charged.
  • August 26: Haunted Wells Street.New tour for 2021!   • August 28: A Stroll along West Rudisill.New tour for 2021! Explore the architectural heritage of this iconic boulevard, honored and protected as part of the National Register of Historic Places. Meet in the First Missionary Church parking lot, 701 W. Rudisill Blvd. 10 a.m. Admission charged.
  • September 2: Built Heritage of West Central.New tour for 2021! Dive deep into the styles and stories of Fort Wayne’s signature historic district. Meet on the Wayne Street side of Library Plaza. 7 p.m. Admission charged.
  • September 9: Welcome to Williams Woodland.New tour for 2021! Tree-lined streets showcase more than a century of pride in these historic homes. Learn their stories on this tour. Meet at the corner of Webster and Taber streets. 7 p.m. Admission charged.

  • September 16: Haunted Nebraska. Have you met the Nebraska Spook? Or heard about the deaths? Those stories, plus tragedy, crime and more ghosts on this not-to-be-missed tour. Meet on the sidewalk outside the Redwood Inn, 1400 block of W. Main St. 7 p.m. Admission charged.
  • September 23: A Stroll along West Rudisill.New tour for 2021! Explore the architectural heritage of this iconic boulevard, honored and protected as part of the National Register of Historic Places. Meet in the First Missionary Church parking lot, 701 W. Rudisill Blvd. 7 p.m. Admission charged.

  • October 7: Murder, Mystery & Mayhem. Ghosts and macabre memories linger in downtown Fort Wayne as testimonies to the city’s deep past, tragedies suffered and often-violent history. See downtown in a different way on this enlightening tour. Meet outside the Grand Wayne Center on Jefferson Boulevard. 7 p.m. Admission charged.
  • October 9: Haunted West Central. This popular tour includes some of Fort Wayne’s best ghost stories along with some of its most delightful architecture. That Lady in White … is she still watching? Meet on the Wayne Street side of Library Plaza. 10 a.m. Admission charged.

Bicycle tour guests are required to wear helmets and requested to bring water to stay hydrated on the trip. Riders participate at their own risk.

Here are the bicycle tours for August and September:

  • August 14: Bicycle Tour of Foster Park and Southwood Park. Enjoy the architecture, the history, the scenic neighborhoods and historic park on wheels. Meet at the First Missionary Church parking lot. 10 a.m. Admission charged.
  • September 11: Bicycle Tour of Downtown. Explore downtown at a different pace and from what may be a new vantage point of two wheels while your guide shares information and stories about the architecture and history of downtown Fort Wayne. Meet at the Allen County Public Library Downtown’s plaza. 10 a.m. Admission charged.

ARCH tours will be cancelled if storms with thunder and lightning or dangerous winds are happening. Otherwise, dress for the weather and bring an umbrella, if necessary.
